Work on a Residential Holiday Camp for Children in the UK!

  • Title: Pastoral Activity Leader
  • Contract: Seasonal work in summer school holidays.
  • Dates: Sunday 14th July – Saturday 10th August 2024
  • Hours: For the duration of the summer season, shifts are assigned on a weekly basis, with activities running between 7.30am and 9.30pm daily, 6 days a week, andan additional 24 Hours off per week.Weekly hours may vary. Some overnights on call required.
  • Pay: Average £635 per week (inclusive of holiday pay). Pay may vary according to shift pattern.
  • Further Opportunities: Senior/Management roles available for highly experienced candidates with higher salary
  • Accommodation: Ultimate Residential staff stay on site! Food and accommodation provided.

Summary of Position:

  • Ensure the welfare and safety of the children throughout their stay on camp.
  • Living on site, prepare and deliver engaging activities including during evenings and weekends.
  • Encourage participation and development and positive social interactions.
  • Take on a pastoral role as a group leader on camp and key point of contact for the children in our care.
  • Assist with pastoral duties such as social and phone time, bedtimes and lights out, morning and day routines.
  • Assist with the safe and organised running of boarding houses.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience of working with children and delivering activities
  • Experienced in providing pastoral support and caring for children from a variety of backgrounds in a confident and supportive manner.
  • Good organisation and communication skills.
  • A flexible team player, able to adapt to dynamic situations and challenges on camp.
  • Someone looking for a rewarding holiday job, whilst furthering their career in the childcare and coaching industry.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience taking sole charge of a group of children
  • Qualified in or working towards a relevant sport, art, performing arts, teaching or childcare qualification
  • Experience/qualifications in safeguarding
  • Hold a Paediatric First Aid (12 or 6 hour) or First Aid at Work qualification
