The TEFL Org’s team has over 30 years of experience in language schools and teacher training. All members of the team have completed the courses and have a variety of experiences teaching, living abroad and travelling.

Alan Moir Sales & Marketing Manager

After teaching English in Spain, Alan returned to the UK to work at our head office in Inverness. As the Marketing and Sales Manager, he oversees company communications and works with our partners. Outside the office, Alan likes to travel, cook and learn new languages.

Thomas Kerr Online Courses Manager

Thomas holds an MA in Education, an Advanced Diploma in Applied Linguistics, and a Trinity Diploma for teaching English as a Second Language as well as a TEFL certificate. He has been teaching English for 30 years mainly in Europe, especially Spain, and teacher training for 15 years.

Chris Etchells IT Manager

Chris runs our IT systems and manages the development team. He has worked in web development and production since 2002 and joined TEFL in 2013 after an awarding winner career in eLearning production. He is an active member of the maker community has a keen interest in electronics and 3d printing.

Donald Sutherland Web Developer

Donald is a self-taught technology enthusiast. He works in our head office in Inverness, and takes great pride in his work to provide constant improvements and stability to both our internal and external systems. Donald is very rarely not working, but when he’s not, he enjoys letting off steam in the local Badenoch and Strathspey bagpipe band.

Jake Brown Web Designer

Jake is our web and graphic designer and is responsible for keeping our website easy to use and looking its best. Jake is originally from Wales and is now based in our Edinburgh office. He has a degree in Computer Science from Swansea University and loves to travel and play guitar.

Erin Mackenzie Digital Marketing Executive

Erin first started with the company in 2010 before studying History of Art at The University of Glasgow. After graduating and spending some time living in Berlin and doing a bit of travelling, she returned to work for TEFL Org as a Digital Marketing Executive. In her free time she enjoys a good book, vegetarian cooking, and photography.

Alejandra Wilson TEFL Advisor

Alejandra (Ali for short) is our TEFL Advisor and the person to contact if you have any questions about enrolling on your first TEFL course or teaching abroad. Originally from Peru, Ali has lived in Scotland for over 10 years and gained a degree in Languages with Tourism Management with Edinburgh Napier University, also spending her Erasmus semester in Seville. Outside of work you can catch Ali listening to old-school disco and she also enjoys travelling and cooking new dishes.

Fiona Sutherland Part-time Administrator

I work in administration for TEFL, trying to help our students with account related queries and anything else I can help with. I have previous administration experience in a variety of organisations such as the Scottish Agricultural College and the NHS amongst others. I love travelling and visiting sunnier climes, particularly in Europe.
