The TEFL Org Story
Our story began in 2008, when experienced TEFL teachers, Joe Hallwood and Jennifer MacKenzie, returned home from years of teaching in Europe and founded The TEFL Org - in a garden shed, no less! The goal from the outset was clear: to offer high-quality, affordable training. It was all about enabling others to experience the same incredible opportunities TEFL had offered them.
Since then, The TEFL Org has grown rapidly. We have a team of over 40 staff and tutors who are incredibly passionate about all things TEFL. Along the way we’ve picked up fantastic awards, expanded across the globe, gained more accreditation than any other TEFL course provider, and trained over 185,000 teachers who’ve gone on to teach all over the world.

For the second consecutive year, The TEFL Org has partnered with Theirworld, a children’s charity dedicated to ending the global education crisis. Theirworld believes that every single child deserves the best start in life, as well as a safe place to learn and develop skills for the future.
