The School is seeking a well-qualified, enthusiastic, and creative EAL (English as an Additional Language) teacher to join their EAL Department.
Candidates must have a passion for teaching and learning and be qualified in teaching children who need additional support with English.
This is a part-time role, two days per week based at their Pre-Prep.
Members of the EAL department teach a mixture of individual one-to-one lessons and small group lessons, assisting the children with a variety of grammar, literacy, and study skills.
EAL staff also provide in-class lesson support for the wider school community. Short reports are written twice a year; progress reports every half term. A basic use of ICT would be required. There is close liaison with parents, sending a one-page report of areas covered, progress and areas to still work on.
Staff also liaise with other teaching staff in the school to plan lessons in line with the curriculum and monitor progress. Staff meetings are held at the beginning of each term, during INSET, and a department meeting is held once a fortnight in term time.
