Here at The TEFL Org we would like to reassure students booked onto our courses that we are taking our responsibility seriously and wish to do all we can to work in line with the government guidelines in relation to the current COVID-19 pandemic.
Since March we have been following UK, Scottish, Welsh, Northern Ireland, Irish and Spanish government guidelines in relation to operating and running classroom courses and we have taken the following steps.
- All classroom courses are suspended until October 1st in England, and 15th September in Scotland.
- Our staff are all working from home.
- Telephone lines are now reopened.
We are sure you will understand that we must be led by the decisions made by our classroom course venue operators, while also considering both the safety of our customers and course tutors when making decisions on whether we can run courses or not.
We are in communication with our venue providers and are making decisions on whether classroom courses can run based on the individual venue’s responses.
Overall, we use hotel meeting and conference rooms to run our courses in. Although many (though not all) of our venues are opening for accommodation customers many are not opening their meeting rooms yet.
We have had already had to cancel some courses where venues have contacted us to say they will NOT be reopening for events until September at the earliest. We have contacted all customers affected as soon as we have found this out but sometimes there can be a delay as many venue staff have been furloughed or made redundant over this period and venues have not got in touch with us as quickly as would normally be expected.
We know this can be stressful and exasperating for you not knowing when your classroom course may run but unfortunately, we are all in the same position from the venue staff, to you, to us in relation to the current uncertainty.
What does this mean for you?
If your classroom course has been cancelled, you have the option of switching to another date in the future or there is also now the option of taking a virtual classroom course.
There is more information on these on the site
Please email the office with your preferred dates for either the classroom or virtual classroom course, which are available on the website. We will assign you to this course. If you are unable to take a future course then please contact the office by email.
Your online courses remain unaffected. Certificates will be sent out within 14 days, please contact us if you need it more urgently.
If you want to book a classroom course you may do so on a date after August, if there is no change in the COVID-19 situation then we can move your preferred date at no charge.
You can now contact us by phone, chat or email but please remember we are all working remotely from one another and things can take a bit longer than usual, so we ask for your patience and understanding. Please be assured that we will respond to your enquiries.
We will be in touch with updates as the situation unfolds and in the meantime wish you all well.
Very best wishes,
Jennifer and Joe
