They are now recruiting passionate English teachers for Hagwon positions (Jan–Mar 2026) and EPIK Fall 2026 (applications open Feb 2026).

Hagwons (Private Academies)

Pros: Year-round hiring, faster placement, higher starting salaries, smaller classes.

Cons: Evenings/weekend hours, schedules vary by school.

EPIK (Public Schools)

Pros: Stable hours (Mon–Fri), paid vacation, government benefits, larger teaching community.

Additional Benefits

Hagwons (Private Academies)

Teaching Hours: ~25–30 teaching hours per week (about 120–150 hrs/month).

Schedule: Afternoon–evening shifts; some schools may include Saturdays.

Students: Kindergarten, elementary, or middle school depending on the academy.

Environment: Faster pace, smaller classes, structured curriculum.

EPIK (Public Schools)

Teaching Hours: 22 class hours per week (about 88 hrs/month), plus prep time.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, morning–afternoon; national holidays off.

Students: Elementary, middle, or high school (assigned by the Office of Education).

Environment: Larger classrooms, co-teaching with a Korean teacher, stable routine.

Requirements

• Must hold a passport from one of the following native English-speaking countries: USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, or New Zealand.

• Must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (any major accepted).

• Must have a clean national criminal background check with apostille.

• Must be mentally and physically healthy and able to adapt to life in Korea.

• Must have no serious medical or legal issues that would affect visa approval.

• TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certificate recommended (required for some positions).

• Must be able to commit to a 12-month contract.

• Must have strong interest in teaching, cultural exchange, and working with young learners.

• Must meet the visa requirements for the E-2 teaching visa or F-series visa.

These requirements apply to both Hagwon and EPIK applicants, though EPIK may require additional documents during the application period.
