2008
We open our doors as TEFL Scotland with a mission to train motivated, qualified English language teachers.
We train our very first graduate, Fraser Duff, who goes on to build a long and rewarding teaching career abroad.

We earn SQA accreditation, highlighting our course quality standards.
We launch TEFL England, bringing our training to a wider audience.
2011
We keep growing across the UK, launching TEFL Wales and TEFL Ireland.
By the end of 2011 we've trained 10,000 teachers — showing the demand for quality TEFL education.
2012
We're awarded BAC accreditation, further cementing our reputation as one of the UK's leading TEFL training providers.
2014
TEFL Scotland, Wales, and England merge to form TEFL Org UK, joining under a common purpose to be the UK's most trusted TEFL provider.
2017
Our global community keeps growing, with more than 50,000 teachers trained.
2018
The TEFL Org expands into the United States, letting us support even more aspiring English teachers around the world.
2019
We rebrand to The TEFL Org and gain Ofqual regulation in the UK, cementing our course quality internationally.
2020
We achieve DEAC regulation in the US and reach another major milestone: 100,000 teachers trained worldwide.
2021
We become an Employee Ownership Trust, giving our employees a stake in shaping the future of The TEFL Org.
2024
