TEFL
Fed up of the 9-to-5, rubbish weather, and desperate for a change? TEFL – teaching English as a foreign language – might just be the answer.
With TEFL there are opportunities to teach English abroad as well as online, from the comfort of your own home. This year, the British Council estimates the number of people using English to some degree will hit 2 billion. Only around 360 million are native English speakers, so a quick calculation will tell you that there are a lot of English language learners out there.
And they all need teachers! That’s where you come in. Having a TEFL qualification means you can take advantage of the current huge demand for EFL teachers and get out there and experience the world.
So, what are the requirements? All you need to get started is a native or native-level of English. That’s it – no previous teaching experience necessary, no other qualifications required.

TEFL courses in Ireland
Since 2011, we’ve been running courses across Ireland. The TEFL Org holds more accreditation than any other TEFL course provider in Ireland, so you can be confident in the quality of our teacher training courses.
We run regular 20-hour classroom courses in Dublin, Cork, Sligo, and Galway, as well as in Belfast in Northern Ireland. The classroom course gives you the opportunity to learn directly from a seasoned EFL pro who has significant experience in both teaching English language learners and training teachers.
Our 20-hour weekend course is best paired with at least 100 hours of online study. TEFL training is measured in hours, with the majority of employers worldwide requesting a 120-hour qualification, which is why we recommend taking a teaching course with at least those hours.
Can’t make it along to one of our classroom courses in Ireland? Don’t worry, you can complete your training entirely online. Our online courses are flexible and self-paced, meaning you can easily fit studying in around your existing schedule.
