This school are seeking to recruit a Part-Time Integration Assistant for a Maternity Cover position to work with children requiring EAL support across the school. The successful applicant will need to be caring and flexible, and be able to communicate effectively with children, parents and colleagues. Hours worked can be flexible, minimum 21 hours and maximum 28 hours per week during term time.

Core Hours - 21 - 28 per week during term time
Salary - £11,165 - £18,744 (subject to review in September)
Qualifications/Professional Development
- Relevant EAL related qualification
- QTS or Level 3 qualification as defined by the Department for Education as being suitable for the EYFS
- Evidence of recent involvement in professional development
Experience and skills
- Experience of EAL support work with children aged 3 to 11 with an understanding of how to meet each child’s support needs
- Experience of planning, leading and participating in activities to support the learning needs of children in KS2, KS1 or the EYFS, either in groups or 1-1
- Effective communication and listening skills
Knowledge
- Sound understanding of safeguarding principles
- Sound knowledge of early childhood development, in particular for children for whom English is not their first language
- Knowledge of current good practice for children aged 3 – 11
- Sound knowledge of ‘Talk for Writing’ would be desirable

Please note this is a temporary maternity cover, which will terminate upon the return of the employee on maternity leave. They expect that she will return no earlier than 9 months from the start of your contract, but it could be up to 12 months after. If the employee informs us that she has decided to return from maternity leave earlier than expected they reserve the right to terminate the contract, but would give 6 weeks’ notice.
