Job Details

This College is looking for well-qualified and experienced EFL teachers to join their team on an ongoing basis. All candidates need to be proficient in teaching General English and hold relevant qualifications, including a degree (min. BA) and either a CELTA or be TEFL certified. Candidates with at least five years teaching experience, who also have a background in IELTS and Cambridge exam preparation would be preferred, although teachers with a minimum of one to two years’ experience will also be considered. The College is committed to supporting all of their teachers in their continued, professional development by providing monthly CPD, alongside weekly staff meetings to ensure a supportive working environment and positive team atmosphere.

Express English College is a bespoke college based in Manchester. They provide a range of general and specialised English courses to suit students from a variety of backgrounds, with various requirements and study goals. The college boasts secure and contained facilities with comfortable and bright classrooms, equipped with state-of-the-art technology and open-plan communal spaces. The college is also British Council accredited and holds a Green Standard Schools (GSS) membership, meaning that their school is at the forefront of sustainable practice; facts that set them apart from other English colleges.

Main purpose of role: To plan, prepare and deliver effective and motivating English language classes to students on-site. These lessons should evaluate and encourage students’ skills and development, through a communicative teaching approach, alongside student-focused methodology. Teachers will also be expected to use a combination of assigned course resources and their own authentic materials, so a flexible, varied and creative approach to lesson planning is encouraged. Teachers are also required to complete weekly admin tasks, including updating Schemes of Work, a weekly Record of Work and a CPD log, which is updated monthly.

Salary: £17.50 per hour (This amount includes teaching hours, preparation/planning time, breaks and CPD).

Job Type:

* 6-month renewable contact (subject to performance).

* A minimum of twenty-two and a half hours per week, with scheduled classes running between Monday-Friday from 9:00am – 1:30pm.

* The possibility of additional teaching hours over the summer period.
