Assistant English Teacher
Assistant teacher needed for all-boys private school in Russia!
This Russian school is located in the village of Pavlovsk, approximately 45 minutes away from St. Petersburg. It is an all-boys boarding school, founded in 1998 by the businessman, Sergei Gutsait. The school’s mission is to set high standards for private educational institutions which aim to positively influence Russian society.
The school is looking for a native level assistant English teacher who can begin work in January 2020. The position requires a semester’s long commitment, but it may be extended if a mutual agreement is reached. The assistant English teacher will work approximately 35 hours per week and receive the equivalent of $8.00/hour.
The assistant English teacher position involves close cooperation with the head English teachers, i.e. assisting them before, during and after classes. The main responsibility will be creating an English language environment, where the students are motivated to take an active part in conversation activities, to expand their vocabulary, and improve pronunciation and grammar. Class sizes are usually small, rarely more than just a handful of students per class (6-12). The total student body size at the school is 34 students.
The school will provide free housing, as well as meals in the school’s dining hall. Likewise, they will reimburse the cost of your visa and the plane ticket to Russia. Lastly, standard health insurance will be provided.
The assistant English teacher must be native level speaker of English and possess Bachelor’s degree. They do not require a minimum hours of teaching experience, but more experience is a plus and makes your application more competitive. TEFL certificate required.
