Job Details

This company offers the leading ESL program in Latin America with institutes in Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Peru. They are looking for great ESL teachers to join their teaching team in Antigua, Guatemala. It is well known for their "Native English Program," their professionalism, and dedication to excellent teaching and great client service. They are a hard-working and professional group—and these are the kind of teachers they look for.

ESL teachers teach 30 contact hours per week, Monday - Friday. Class size is limited to 12 learners. Most teachers teach a range of levels from Basic to Advanced. The majority of their learners are young adults, 18-30 years old, and some teens.

They pride themselves on their teachers, and it is important that you take pride in your teaching. They specifically look for professionals with a passion for teaching. They stress three things in their classrooms:

SALARY

The Institute pays teachers a fixed base salary approximately 10% above the average teacher's salary in-country. This salary is not adjusted down unless teachers request fewer classes, so monthly budgeting is easy. Base salary can be increased by adding classes, extra hours, substituting for other teachers, and earning 'Rock Star status'. Finishing bonuses are also paid after a minimum 6-month commitment.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree required
TEFL, TESOL, or CELTA certification required
Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent writing skills
