This is an ambitious independent language school in Genoa in the suburb of Pegli, with another school opening in neighbouring Sestri soon.

  • Their objective is to help the students improve their English and their communicative competence and confidence. They aim to do this by following best practice in all areas of planning, teaching and feedback, and by having a welcoming, amicable environment and working with their students to help them achieve their learning goals.
  • The language school has classes for children, teens and adults, both at their school and working with local state schools, offering a range of courses including general English, Cambridge exams and Trinity GESEs.
  • Contract Period: January to July 2020 with the possibility of a further extension.
  • Salaries are paid monthly. Details to be discussed at interview.
  • CPD is taken seriously and each teacher has their own Professional Development Plan worked out with the Director of Studies after their initial observation.
  • Looking for a person with a friendly, flexible and professional outlook on the job, who is reliable and works hard.
  • Candidates must respond well to feedback from both the Director of Studies and their students.
  • Cambridge Exam courses and general English courses have coursebooks which you are expected to use flexibly and supplement where appropriate in order to plan and deliver lessons which maintain the learners’ motivation and interest.
  • There are materials available for Trinity GESEs and primary learner courses. They aim to promote learner autonomy and increased communicative competence through our lessons.




  • TEFL Certificate (classroom course completed desired)
  • A native level of competence in English is expected.
  • An appropriate certificate (Cambridge Proficiency, IELTS etc.) will be requested of non-native speakers.
  • Two professional referees are required. If you are a newly qualified teacher without professional experience as an English language teacher, at least one referee must be from a course tutor.
  • Enhanced DBS check or equivalent police checks will be required.



  • Experience of working in a language school is welcomed.
  • Experience of teaching Italians is welcomed.
  • Experience of teaching Cambridge English and/or Trinity GESEs is particularly welcomed.
