I grew up in South West Scotland, before going to Edinburgh University to study for an MA in English Language. After graduating, I spent a couple of years working in the book trade before taking the plunge into EFL teaching – and haven’t looked back since!
My first teaching post was in Poland, in a city called Toruń. I remember how terrifying those first lessons were, so I find it really easy to identify with new teachers. I spent 3 years in Poland ‘learning the trade’, becoming a senior teacher and training new recruits. Since then, I’ve spent time teaching in different roles and locations; including as a Director of Studies, managing a summer school and now specialising in Business and 1-to-1 classes.
Polish bigos and sushi (not at the same time!)
